South Africa have won the TriNations already and this match will decide who finishes second in the TriNations for 2009.

Australia will be looking to snatch a victory and end their losing streak against the All Blacks and put them in last places. The All Blacks will be going all out to show that they have not lost their mojo and to finish second in this year's tournament.

Match detail

We are waiting for the kick off - The All Blacks have done the Haka (Ka Mate).

.01: The All Blacks kick off and we are underway. The All Blacks win the ball back after the kick off. They go through the phases testing the Wallabies defence.

.00: The Wallabies win a penalty so Matt Giteau kicks for touch but misses and the All Blacks counter attack.

.00: As the All Blacks go forward they win a penalty for playing the ball on the ground. Dan Carter kicks for posts and misses!!

.00: The Wallabies do some good work and set up a line out 15m out. They win the line out and run it.

.00: Wallabies work the ball to the centre. There is a knock on though and the All Blacks have the put in at a scrum in front of the posts. Corey Jane is having a good game already.

.00: A mistake at the scrum allows the Wallabies to run the ball at the All Blacks. The All Blacks get caught playing the ball on the ground (Thomson) and Matt Giteau takes a penalty shot at goal. He nails it and the Wallabies lead.

.00: Some great running lines by the Wallabies after the kick off sees them on attack in the All Blacks 25. Adam Ashley-Cooper sucks in an All Black defender and then the All Blacks get caught again playing the ball on the ground. Matt Giteau again takes the penalty shot and misses much to the delight of the home crowd.

.00: The match is largely being controlled by the Wallabies who are running and kicking well. Possession for the All Blacks is down to 35%.

.00: An intentional knock on goes in so Dan Carter has a shot at goal and this time he nails it to level the scores.

.00: All Blacks overthrow the line out but retain possession luckily. As they go forward the Wallabies get pinged so Dan Carter has another shot at goal in the 25. This one he again he nails. All Blacks lead.

.00: The All Blacks are much more involved in the game now. They run the ball and look dangerous. Possession is now 50-50.

.00: The All Blacks win a penalty after a collapsed scrum. They choose to scrum again and then run the ball. Adam Ashley-Cooper plays the ball on the ground so Carter has another shot at goal. Penalties are starting to mount against the Wallabies. Carter nails the penalty.

.00: The Wallabies win a free kick after a scrum. As they go forward after a quick tap they knock on and we have another scrum on the other side of the field.

.00: Some great work on the ground by McCaw halts a Wallaby attack and allows them to counter attack. Cowan takes quick tap for a free kick and finds space.

.00:The Wallabies get pushed well back but defend so well that they win a penalty.

.00: Berrick Barnes nails a drop goal after he sees Toeava put in high tackle where they had the advantage. Toeava gets shown a yellow card.

.00: Just when you think the Walabies might have an advantage Corey Jane scores a try for the All Blacks after the restart - he just caught the ball from the kick and ran in an easy try. Dan Carter converts.

.00: The Wallabies attack but as they get to Tatafu Polota-Nau he drops the ball - knock on. There is a short break for an injury so the game is held up.

.00: Even though the All Blacks are a man down they are still in control. They suck the Wallabies into playing a kicking game instead of running the ball where they would have a numbers advantage.

.00: Wallabies wake up and start to run the ball but when they go wide the ball goes out on the full.

.00: It's a kicking game again and this time Carter sets up a 10m lineout in the Wallabies 25. Toeava returns from the bin.

.00: All Blacks win the line out and run. They pushed across the field. George Smith puts in memorable tackle on Carter and the All Blacks continue to run ....keeping the ball alive after the siren. The Wallaby defence pushes them well back. The ball then goes out on the full and the whistle goes.

It's half time.

The half time score was New Zealand 16 Australia 6

The second half is underway.

.00: The All Blacks start well. They go through the phases but Carter takes his eye off the ball and knocks on.

.00: Both scrums seem to be struggling but Craig Joubert is managing it well.

.00: The All Blacks win a penalty after some good running but poor follow up work by James O'Connor. Dan Carter takes the penalty kick and nails it. Neemia Tialata is subbed by John Afoa.

.00: Tatafu Polota-Nau gets subbed by Stephen Moore so both teams have changed their front row.

.00: Its a little scrappy with lots of close range stuff. New Zealand are keeping the ball tight.

.00: The All Blacks (Jane then Toeava) run the ball which is exciting but Cowan follows up and then tries the chip kick and the Wallabies regather and boot to safety.

.00: Corey Jane sparks another run for Toeava who makes good ground and then passes to Nonu who knocks on.

.00: The All Blacks are still piling on the presure but the Wallabies defence is holding them out.

.00: The Wallabies start to counter attack and it starts to work as they get a penalty.

.00: Wallabies get into the 25 and attack. Barnes finds a hole but gets caught by secondary defence.

.00: Benn Robinson comes off injured and Pek Cowan comes on. Elsom comes back on from a brief spell in the blood bin. The All Blacks win a crucial 5m scrum and Cowan boots the ball out and then gets subbed by Leonard.

.00: Wallabies win the line out and run it to within 2m but get held up.

.00: The Wallabies go at the All Blacks line. They go again and again. They get to within a metre but the All Blacks turn it over.

.00: Jason Eaton does some fine work at the line out for the All Blacks just when they need it. Rodney So'oialo comes on for Thomson.

.00: The All Blacks string together 11 phases but its slow and deliberate as they want to hold on to the ball and wind down the clock. Suddenly they bust out and Nonu flies off and stretches for the line and scores what must be the match winning try !

.00: Dan Carter converts the try ......off the post.

.00: Luke Burgess comes on for the Wallabies.

.00: The bounce of the ball is going the All Blacks way. They get a 5m lineout which they win. They drive for the line ...drive over it but get held up.

.00; You can see the Wallabies hearts are not in this now. The All Blacks spin the ball out wide and Joe Rokocoko dives over for the try.

.00: Dan Carter converts the try as the hooter sounds and its all over. All Blacks take second place.
