Former All Black star Robin Brooke has been named as the player alleged to have sexually harassed a New Zealand teenager holidaying in Fiji.
Fiji Police Sergeant Suliano Tevita confirmed Brooke was being investigated after the alleged incident at the Hilton Denaru on New Year's Eve, the Sunday News reported.
The 15-year-old girl worked part-time to save her airfare to Fiji to stay with a schoolfriend whose father, Philip Buckleton, owns Beachside Resort at Nadi.
"We took (the girls) to Denarau for New Year because it had security and it was safe," Mr Buckleton told NZPA.
Reports say that the girls were sitting next to the pool when Brooke walked past and allegedly grabbed one on the buttocks.
"She yelled out something like, `What the hell do you think you're doing? That's disgusting."
Then a short time later Brooke returned and did exactly the same thing to the same girl, which she couldn't believe.
The girl's 17-year-old friend then stepped in and Brooke told him to "settle down or I'll knock you the f . . k out".
"He threw me on a deckchair and grabbed my throat . . . one of the other girls went and got a guard . . . he kept saying settle down and eventually I just said no," Jordan told the newspaper.
The girl's mother said that the family did not want Brooke to have a criminal conviction "but we want him to give our daughter a sincere apology".
Brooke had tried to contact the girl on New Year's Day but she was too angry to meet him.
He and his wife, Hayley, did meet Jordan however and he has made an assault complaint to the Fijian police.
"He was saying he was really sorry and if he could just turn back the clock . . . he was nervous," Jordan said.
"His wife was there and she told me they had kids, she was really distraught, she looked like she was about to break into tears."
