Court proceedings against former South Africa rugby player James Dalton in connection with attempted murder charges have been postponed.
The Pretoria Regional Court on Wednesday postponed the hearing until April 12 to allow Dalton's defense to apply to make presentations to the director of public prosecutions.
The 37-year-old former Springbok is accused of trying to murder then wife Andrea in Pretoria on Nov. 16, 2007.
Dalton is alleged to have held her head under water in an attempt to drown her and allegedly pressed a dress over her mouth and nose to try and suffocate her.
The pair divorced in August 2009.
Dalton won 43 caps for the Springboks and was part of the South Africa squad at the 1995 World Cup.
